Disney's High School Musical 2 Based On Disney's Channel Original Movie Based On Disney's Channel Original Movie Woodlawn Theatre (website) 1920 Fredericksburg Road, (Map) Audition Dates: Jan. 7 (Wednesday) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm (TEXAS PREMIER) ***PLEASE EMAIL pennington.jonathan@gmail.com for information about auditioning ***WALK-IN's ARE WELCOME, BUT BOOKING AN AUDITION TIME HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PREPARATION: Prepare a song no longer than 1 minute. Be prepared for cold readings from the original script. PLOT and SYNOPSIS: The Wildcats are back. They start off getting out of school, where Sharpay makes sure Troy has a job at her country club. Troy, in return, gets everyone else a job at the country club. Gabrielle is the new lifeguard, while Troy, Chad, and the others work in the kitchen. At the country club there is a talent show, which Sharpay and Ryan win every year. Kelsie had written a song for Troy and Gabrielle to sing at the talent show, which later on Sharpay takes (at a faster tempo) for her and Troy to sing at the talent show. Sharpay plots to take Troy away from Gabrielle, by getting him a better job than the rest of the Wildcats. Troy starts changing, all for a "scholarship", starting to act like a jerk, which results in Gabrielle breaking up with Troy, saying she doesn't belong there. After Troy loses all his friends, because he began acting like a jerk and had found out that Sharpay had made it where no Junior Staffers can perform in the talent show, he decides to do something about it, and asks for his old job back with the rest of his friends and quits the talent show leaving Sharpay with nothing, since she had ditched her brother to perform with Troy. She then goes back to Ryan, who had been working with the Junior Staffers on an act, who then leaves her saying she always wanted the spotlight, now she has it. Troy ends up doing the talent show, thinking that he would be performing with Sharpay. He learns a new song within a matter of minutes. Troy is offered a job at Ryan & Sharpay's country club and ends up landing jobs for Gabriella, Chad, Taylor, Kelsi, Jason, Martha and Zeke. He is then introduced to Sharpay's parents and realizes that Sharpay can land him many opportunities and even a basketball scholarship. Meanwhile, while Zac starts hanging out with the rich folk, Chad is worried that Zac will forget his friends. Gabriella feels as though she is losing Troy to Sharpay. In the end, Troy will have to learn how to think about his scholarship without losing his friends. Good-bye, classroom! Hello, summer! But for Troy, Gabriella, Chad, and Taylor, this vacation is no day at the beach. That's because they're all working at a country club founded by Ryan and Sharpay's family! And with the club's annual talent show right around the corner, Sharpay's competitive instincts are sizzling. She dumps Ryan as her singing partner and starts wooing Troy to join her onstage instead. Gabriella is less than thrilled that Troy has agreed to sing with Sharpay. How could he do that to her? Things are heating up on the lawns of high society. Will Troy and Gabriella realize that they're meant to be? Or is it already too late for them to sing one last song together? Brilliant Traces (BCT Spring Special) Boerne Community Theatre (website) 907 E. Blanco Rd., Boerne, Texas (Map) Audition Dates: Sunday, January 18 & Monday, January 19 The place is a remote cabin in the wilds of Alaska. As a blizzard rages outside, a lonely figure, Henry Harry, lies sleeping under a heap of blankets. Suddenly, he is awakened by the insistent knocking of an unexpected visitor—who turns out to be Rosannah DeLuce, a distraught young woman who has fled all the way from Arizona to escape her impending marriage, and who bursts into the cabin dressed in full bridal regalia. Exhausted, she throws herself on Henry's mercy, but after sleeping for two days straight, her vigor—and combativeness—return. Both characters, it develops, have been wounded and embittered by life, and both are refugees from so-called civilization. Thrown together in the confines of the snowbound cabin, they alternately repel and attract each other as, in theatrically vivid exchanges, they explore the pain of the past and, in time, consider the possibilities of the present. In the end their very isolation proves to be the catalyst that allows them to break through the web of old griefs and bitter feelings that beset them both and to reach out for the solace and sanctuary that only hard-won understanding, self-awareness and compassion for the plight of others can bestow. Characters: Roles: 1 man, 1 woman, both late 20's - early 30's, auditions consist of cold readings from the script. Cast: Directed by Larry Beauchamp Show Dates: March 6 - 14, 2009 Show Times: Thursdays - 7:30pm, Fridays & Saturdays - 8pm, Sundays - 2:30pm Contact: Larry Beauchamp at jlarry@satx.rr.com or 210-561-0719

Sheer Bloody Lunacy Cast Album The Overtime Theater (website) 1216 West Ave (Map) So you saw the new, hit musical at the Overtime Theater in San Antonio once… twice… maybe even 3 or 4 times, helping the theater have sold-out shows for a good portion of the run in October and November. Or you just *heard* about it from a rabid friend or fan, but never had the time to see it for yourself. So you've been pining for another chance to hear the music, to see the oil-covered actors, to partake of the sticky strangeness once more…. Well, the show's over so you can't see it again anytime soon (unless you check out the youtube videos or want to pay for a reader's theater version of "Sheer Bloody Lunacy" – rates are negotiable)… But we can accommodate you on the music! There are three ways you can get your hands on this musical mayhem: 1. Download the album – Only $9.99 to get the downloadable, mp3 album from online distributor CD Baby. With the songs, you also get the cover art and liner notes as a package deal. Our CD Baby webpage is http://cdbaby.com/cd/sheerbloodylunacy, and you can also find a link on our myspace site at www.myspace.com/sheerbloodylunacy. 2. Buy the CD at the Overtime Theater – Next time you're at an Overtime show, pick up a copy of the SBL CD for only $12. 3. Order the CD through the mail – Send an email to theovertimetheater@gmail.com, and we'll send you info on how to pay online or by check to have the CD mailed to you. Cost is $12 for the CD plus $2.50 shipping & handling. A final note: almost all of the money from the album sales goes directly to the songwriters and cast, so you can be sure that the artists are getting the bucks.
